Summary
The stirring account of Canada's heroic effort in World War I is told through the words of ordinary soldiers, leaders and civilians. In Sam's Army, Canada was led to war by a bigoted, ignorant, self-obsessed Minister of Militia, Sam Hughes, who may well have been clinically insane, but the importance of Canada's contribution in that war owes a great deal to him. The Battle of Vimy Ridge, parts I and II recreates one of the greatest battles in Canadian military history. The last 100 days describes the Canadian military accomplishments in the final one hundred days of WWI, achievements that surpassed those of any other army
