Summary
Having weathered an early and unexciting marriage, recent divorcee Anna Dunlap is just beginning to adjust to her life as a single parent when she falls in love with Leo Cutter, an enigmatic Irish sculptor who captivates the shy piano teacher with his unconventional attitudes and ideas. Liberated by their unchecked passion for each other and the growing sense of personal freedom that she experiences as a result of their union, Anna believes she has found a happy balance between her newly-discovered needs as a woman and the fulfilling relationship she shares with her daughter Molly. Her idyllic world is shattered, however, when her ex-husband Brian questions her lifestyle and sues Anna for custody of their daughter. Although her fight to keep Molly forces her to accept many bitter and difficult realizations, it is also a struggle that ultimately rewards her with a greater sense of self-awareness and inner peace
