Summary
Armed with only a few essentials, bush pilot, environmentalist and author George Erickson sets off from his home in Minnesota and journeys across a part of Canada so distant that few Canadians will ever experience it first-hand. Flying solo in his Piper Cub Special seaplane and landing on unexplored lakes and rivers to set up camp, he eats off the land, struggles with bad weather, dodges forest fires, and takes the reader to a land of stunning landscapes where he mingles with polar bears, killer whales, musk oxen, and caribou. 2000
