Summary
In a television first, five-hundred hopeful teenagers from Ireland and Australia apply for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be one of eight international Rookies to work with rescued and rehabilitated marine animals at Blue Zoo in Australia. The eight lucky teens, aged between fourteen and sixteen, travel to Coffs Harbour in New South Wales where they embark on an intense six-week training mission to learn the ropes, take part in emergency marine-animal rescues and releases, and care for and help rehabilitate the park animals-including doing the not-so-glamorous jobs of fish prep and cleaning up seal poop each morning. In addition to their duties, the Rookies are also given the challenge of creating their own dolphin and seal performance within six weeks!
